Excellent Dishwasher! October 28, 2009 Reviewer:  V. Taylor "Valharley" Real Name (Milton, WV)  See all my reviews >

Easy to set up, cleans dishes perfectly and doesn't take up a huge space, highly recommend.

Good small inexpensive machine August 9, 2009 Reviewer:  M. Burklow "MsMoon" Real Name (California)  See all my reviews >

Did my research, read reviews and decided to buy one. I agree with all the issues everyone has talked about. Here are my solutions that have kept it running in good order for two years now.

If it leaks out of the bottom of the door, but sure the unit is completely level. I put a small lever under the front and there is no more leaking.

Door window breaks/leaks. If you catch it when it is small, dry out the machine and use some RTV silicone gasket maker and seal up the window, cures in 24 hours and can withstand 640 degrees. Haven't had a problem since.

Washer arm not spinning. At first you do need to re-spin it with your hand a few times, if it still gets stuck, do the infamous toothpick cleaning as everyone has had to do if they have owned a dishwasher.

Would also recommend running about once a month without any dishes and some vinegar or just some regular dry dishwasher soap, liquid soap doesn't seem to work very well.

Good Luck!

Great in tiny kitchen But window leaks in 1 year. July 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Barbara "Barbie" (Mahwah, NJ)  See all my reviews >

I have owned 3 of these now. After the 3rd one leaked out the window after only 1 year of use just as all the other ones I have owned did... I am now going to (Finally) wise up and invest on taking out a cabinet and buy a real full sized dishwasher. The last half a year I’ve had my dshwasher tilting on a slant over the sink so it would just leak into the sink as it was running.
Great for a year to year 1/2 investment if rent.... but I WOULD NOT recommend it for a home owner. I should have invested in a full sized dishwasher from the start but unfortunately I have now all ready wasted over a bigger price in 4 years on this smaller model. Always hopeing they might have improved the fact that it leaks in a year or so... But sadly they have not. It Does clean dishes well till the window starts to leak. It has a nice hot cycle that gets things much cleaner then by hand but unfortunately the company put a window in it (for what reason I do not know) and that causes the machine too leak in about one year of heavy usage. Also it is too small to fit more than 2 full sized plates in at a time because you have to load them in at an extreme slant to get them fit correctly. When I get my new full size dishwasher I will finally be able to use adult size plates and to be able to do all my dishes and pans in one load. =)

Like it for the most part January 31, 2008 Reviewer:  ME See all my reviews >

I had one and it worked great. The problem I had with it was that the door is made of plastic but the interior is made of metal. I used mine for about a year before the door cracked from the side all the way to the window because a metal screw cracked the plastic. I had a warranty with Target, so I got my money back. It's just a little design flaw. I'll buy another one, but I think I'll get something to cushion the screws where they touch the plastic.

Excellent Machine! Highly recommended. January 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Anastacia Beaverhausen "No, I don't know Karen Walker" (New York, NY)  See all my reviews >

I have had this machine for a little over two years of heavy use and so far it has exceeded my expectations! I don't believe in pre-rinsing dishes (wastes a lot of water) and it is very rare to have dishes come out dirty with this thing. I use the heated normal cycle and clean the strainer tray after every use. It only takes two teaspoons of POWDERED detergent to run a normal wash cycle which means you very rarely run out of detergent. I am also still on the original bottle of rinse aid. As long as you use the rinse aid and open the door immediately after the final rinse cycle your dishes will dry in about 2 minutes. It also sterilizes your dishes with the final cycle.

I didn't give it 5 stars because of these reasons:

-Silverware doesn't look as clean as the dishes (you can see butter marks on knifes etc. even though the marks won't wipe off which means they are clean)

-I wish the rack was adjustable. Also, it is starting to get a little saggy after two years so I have to make sure it is on its tracks or the spray arm can't spin

-Its not loud, but it isn't quiet either

-The window is definitely the weak point of the design, so you have to be careful to not have anything pushing on it when you close the door

I still love it and recommend it though. Just make sure you only use 1 teaspoon of powdered detergent per cup (as is clearly stated in the manual) and don't let things smash against the window.

Cleans Well and Portable January 7, 2008 Reviewer:  Got my Money's Worth "Dustin J" (Iowa, USA)  See all my reviews >

I researched countertop dishwashers for a while before I decided on this one. I couldn't wait for it to arrive because I absolutely hate washing dishes. The capacity is what you'd expect for something called a countertop dishwasher. It is not silent but my kitchen runs into my living room and I don't think it is very loud. It fit perfectly on a rolling microwave cart I had so I can move it around my kitchen. This dishwasher is distinguised from other countertop models by its rinse aid dispenser, water heater, stainless steel interior(not plastic) and a pump to push out the water. The first load I ran worried me because everything was spotty, but I believe that the rinse aid dispenser was not yet primed as the next loads were perfect (my water is very hard and has low water pressure) (it even came with a sample of rinse aid and powdered detergent). In terms of water usage-I put a plug in a standard sink and after all cycles it hadn't filled the sink even half full!!! In terms of cleaning ability I have put some very dirty dishes in there and had them come out clean (ex: chili pan dried on, gravy pan dried, sauces in pans,a crock pot after a roast cooked for at least 10 hours, and didn't wash til next day- I've given it my worst and it cleans without problem). Oh and the dishes get very hot so more likely to be sterile. The only negative I have is that a little rinse aid has dripped out and onto the lip under the door, not even a big enough problem to check into fixing yet and may only be when completely full of rinse aid. I love it and have only had it 2 weeks. P.S. It did not fit under my cabinets but as others have said just measure first, get a microwave cart and you'll be set. My advice-BUY IT, and no I don't work for them just a bachelor that hates doing dishes.

Good for the first month December 30, 2007 Reviewer:  Kim G "Kim G" (Wilkes Barre, PA)  See all my reviews >

My fiancee and I received this dishwasher as a bridal shower gift in August. We used it for a month and then it started leaking around the window. If we weren't home while it was running our kitchen would have gotten soaking wet due to the leak. We caught it before it caused any damage. I thought this was an amazing item until this happened after only a few uses. It's not worth it. I would love to return it, but I got it as a gift with no gift receipt. It now sits in our basement and I am back to handwashing the dishes. Believe me, it's a lot easier.

Happiness for [a good price] December 24, 2007 Reviewer:  Haikuseasmoke (Hawaii)  See all my reviews >

Even though I've only had it a week, I think the Danby counter top dishwasher is fabulous. It sounds like a corny daytime soap opera commercial, I know - but upon its arrival my kitchen was transformed - from being constantly cluttered with dirty dishes to becoming nearly spotless. I thought this thing would just wash dishes - but it also prevents arguments with my husband over kitchen duties. And even though I risk sounding like I watch soaps all day and have no life - I look forward to stacking dishes in it!

Sample sized dish washing detergent comes with the unit. Rinse aid also provided; although dishes come out looking better than when I bought them, I am suspicious of the chemical left behind on the dishes.

5 Star rating:
-Space saver. We have a one butt kitchen and while the Danby is bigger and whiter than expected, it fits and accomplishes alot for it's size. Holds way more than I thought.
-Heats water. While I don't think it gets as hot as the manual purports, it heats the cold water that comes out of our very basic faucet.
-Easy hook-up. The hook-up system is super easy - no leaks so far (unit can be hooked up and unhooked quickly with release mechanism mounted on faucet). However, we have a PUR faucet mount water filter system. Unfortunately the Danby hookup system overloads it and causes serious leaks in the filter system. After getting tired of switching back and forth, I decided to keep the filter hooked up while running the dishwasher. So that I don't waste water or bust the filter, I turn the faucet on only when the dishwater requires it.
-Short wash- dishwasher is quick - even on normal wash setting.
-Clean dishes! With very little effort.

I'm in love! November 1, 2007 Reviewer:  Ruth Houston Real Name See all my reviews >

For the first couple of months in my teeny-tiny studio apartment I was fine with washing dishes in the sink, but once classes started again the dishes started piling up in the sink for weeks. Disgusting, I know. Thank God for this little guy!!! It works wonderfully, and is so easy and convenient. Only bad comments are that the manual is useless. It took me forever to figure out how to connect, I sprayed alot of water all over my kitchen. And nowhere in the manual does it tell you what the symbols on the dial mean. After about five loads I finally figured them out. LOVE IT!!!
